The Mountsorrel United Charities have been caring for the people of Mountsorrel since 1874 when several smaller charities were combined by a scheme authorised by the Charity Commission. The oldest of these smaller charities was The Charity of Ralph Smalley and dates back to the seventeenth century.
Further amendments to the scheme have brought us to where we are today. Sixteen charity trustees oversee the investment portfolio and apply the income of the investments in accordance with the trust deed. Income from the investments is divided between the Mountsorrel Relief in Need Charity, The Mountsorrel Education Fund and The Mountsorrel Church of England Fund.
