The Relief in Need Fund is a part of the Mountsorrel United Charities which was set up in 1874 and exists to help residents of Mountsorrel who find themselves in need, hardship or distress. The fund is able to help in a variety of ways with electrical household products, decorating, carpeting, mobility equipment (that is not supplied by Social Services), ie mobility scooters, hospital travel expenses, footcare, gardening and many of other areas of need.
If you have lived in Mountsorrel for a while (at least 6 months), and find it difficult to pay for the things that your household needs each month, we may be able to help.
To apply to the fund, please contact our Relief in Need Coordinator on 07931 129360 or complete the contact form found on the Contact Us page. The Coordinator will contact you and will complete the application with you. Please note you will need to give some financial details, but these are kept strictly confidential and in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
The sixteen trustees meet eight times a year to consider the applications so you should not have to wait too long for an answer.
